Chloe the caterpillar had lots of friends,

They said their friendship would never end.

Until one day the butterflies played a game,

They picked on Chloe because she wasn’t the same,

I can’t help the fact I’m a caterpillar I’m not to blame.

Chloe the caterpillar cried and cried because she didn’t know why she couldn’t become a butterfly.

I’ve tried and tried but I still can’t fly.

So the next day, Chloe the caterpillar ran away,

What she didn’t know was it was the middle of May,

For this is the time birds search for prey,

Whilst the birds flew in the sky, silently she lay,

But it was time for her to be on her way,

So off she went on a journey from dawn today..

In the distance Chloe saw a colourful creature,

With colourful wings and beautiful features,

“Hi my name’s betty the butterfly, nice to meet cha

“Why are you looking so down? I want to help turn up that frown”

“Can you help me become a butterfly?

I’ve tried and tried but I still can’t fly.”

Chloe the caterpillar started to cry.

Betty the butterfly said “blue bananas works give it a try”

“It’s time I should be on my way,

But thank-you for a lovely stay”

Chloe the caterpillar went on another journey from dawn to day

She was searching for blue bananas until someone was in her way,

“Hey! What can I do for you today?”

“Can you help me become a butterfly?

I’ve tried and tried but I still can’t fly.”

Chloe the caterpillar started to cry.

“Don’t worry just look for dragon fruit” said the dragonfly.

“It’s time I should be on my way,

But thank-you for a lovely stay.”

Chloe the caterpillar went on another journey from dawn to day……

“Words up in the garden, you want to fly,

I know you’ve tried but you’re still not a butterfly.

All you need is patients and faith

All in good time just play safe.”

MY TASK WAS TO WRITE A POEM ABOUT A CATERPILLA FOR A SMALL CHILD TO READ AND I WROTE ABOUT CHLOE THE CATERPILLAS JOURNEY AND HOW SHE BECAME A BUTTERFLY.

what is my origin?

Past down the information what is spread through generation. I be visible. I have so much more to share.

The mind is an untrained heart

I fill the space with range but I won’t let doubt get the best of me.

For I define my destiny

Soon later the confidence will soon be a part of me

The anxiety will be there.

So soon I’ll put the strut back in my walk

Stop

Say what you really feel

Be all of you so all of us can heal

The time for lying and denying is no longer for filled

So now I have the strut in my walk

 The power when I talk

It’s time to listen

It’s time to understand

Cause I’ll tell you ill WADE IN THE WATER ILL WAIT TILL GOD TROUBLE THAT WATER AND ILL BE WAITING

My life isn’t determined by my race

Because ill choose my path and ill choose my life and I’ll find that pace.

FOR ZERO IS MY NEW FIRST PLACE.

THIS POEM WAS INSPIRED BY DANIEL BEATY - EMERGENCY PART 1 AND NATALIE STEWART - MY STORY.

Wade in the water

Wade in the water, wade in the water, wade in the water children cause Gods gonna trouble the water,

We are slaves of our own minds

We live in fear of our own thoughts and feelings combined

Our body is the temple, our mind the God, and our tongue is the holy word of literature.

Our soul is the congregation. We send it forward. Evangelical. Crusaders one and all.

OH look there’s a slave ship boarding at the river Thames what shall we do? For a second there I remembered I was black but the society made me define, remind, rewind to the point when I knew. For the suit I wear and the job I have it no longer means I’m a part of your race and we no longer have the same heritage

So wade in the water children, for it will then be ME who troubles the water.

This poem was inspired my Daniel beaty - emergency part1 : a slave ship rises  in front of the statue or liberty.
